Sustainability Days
The Sustainability Week is organized annually by the Student Parliament with GreenCampus and the Vice President for Digitalization, Innovation and Sustainabilit at the university.
The aim is to look at the topic of sustainability from a variety of perspectives and to keep it present on campus. The target group is primarily students of any study program, but the entire campus community and local residents are invited to participate. Lectures, workshops, discussions and guided tours provide insights into the university's research activities, solution strategies and the commitment of students.
The aim is to make this clear: Sustainability is not a one-dimensional topic with a golden path. Since 2023, the University's Sustainability Award has also been presented by the president as part of Sustainability Week.
The Sustainability Days 2026 will take place June, 08th until June, 10th 2026.

19:30–22:00 o'clock (S46) Movie evening in CINEPLEXX "The weight of the world"
Brief description:
The film is more than just a climate documentary—it is a deeply human portrait of three natural scientists who realize that their research alone is no longer enough. In times of increasing climate disasters, political paralysis, and social division, the film offers an emotional approach to one of the central questions of our time: What does it mean to take responsibility? Science is supposed to be objective: facts instead of feelings. But a new generation of natural scientists is seeing their research thrown into disarray by climate change. Instead of discovering the wonders of nature, Maria, a glaciologist, Sebastian, a professor of physical chemistry, and Nana, a molecular biologist, have become chroniclers of a world in decline. But no one listens to them. What can they do? Instead of retreating in frustration to the ivory tower of their research, Maria, Sebastian, and Nana leave the lab and become activists, for they carry the weight of the world on their shoulders.
The movie will be followed by a discussion with the scientists and producers.
Tickets available over the Cineplexx website and at the desk.
